CompX National, located in Mauldin, SC, is seeking CNC Vertical Mills and Swiss Lathe Machinists. The role requires operating multiple machines, reading blueprints, and maintaining high quality in a fast-paced shop environment.

Preferred candidates have 3–5 years of CNC experience, strong math, and the ability to troubleshoot. Prior exposure to ISO standards and lean practices is a plus; safety and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Position Responsibilities:

• Set-up and operate CNC Vertical Mills or Swiss Lathes
• Operate multiple machines simultaneously.
• Make machine adjustments as needed.
• Maintain excellent quality and high efficiency.
• Utilize precision measuring instruments such as comparators, indicators, calipers, height gauges, and micrometers, to inspect and adhere to close tolerance requirements.
• Comply with all Company safety regulations.
• Maintain housekeeping and organization.
• Follow 5S, lean manufacturing principles, and ISO standards.
• Support quality and compliance by adhering to all procedures, work instructions, and forms per the Quality System (e.g., applicable inspection, verification, and disposition procedures, and/or instructions and forms required as part of the process).
• May be required to perform other jobs as needed by the Company.

Essential Skills and Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED (General Education Diploma) equivalent
• At least 3-5 years of CNC Mill or Swiss/Lathe operational experience - highly preferred
• Strong math background, preferably in machine/shop math
• Must be able to read and interpret blueprints
• Ability to troubleshoot issues
• High Attention to detail
• Able to work in an environment of oil, coolant, and chips
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

Preferred Skills and Experience:

• Technical degree - emphasis on machining / CNC/Mills / Swiss Lathes
