Job description

Shape Aerospace-Grade Precision With Your Turning Expertise

Shift: 1st shift, choose your start between 6:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. (8-hour day)

Compensation: $80,000 – $95,000

Step into a day where you translate complex aerospace prints into clean, efficient CNC code. You’ll arrive, review your queue of tight-tolerance turning jobs, and open Siemens NX to craft toolpaths for mill-turn and 2‑axis lathes—often tackling tough alloys that demand thoughtful workholding, tooling, and gaging strategies. Before a chip is ever cut, you’ll run virtual machine simulation, scrutinize collisions and cycle times, then head to the floor for on-machine prove-outs and optimization.

How You’ll Make an Impact
  • Program and refine NC code in Siemens NX for mill-turn platforms, 2‑axis lathes, and—when needed—CNC mills
  • Use machine simulation to validate programs virtually, then optimize further during on‑machine prove‑outs
  • Partner with design engineering to enhance part manufacturability and apply sound GD&T interpretation
  • Support equipment installation, runoff, and production ramp
  • Create clear, process-focused work instructions and related documentation
  • Pitch in on additional manufacturing engineering duties as needed
What You’ll Bring
  • High school diploma or GED
  • 3–5 years of CAM-based NC programming, primarily on lathes (mill experience welcome; turning is core)
  • Solid 3D CAD proficiency; strong grasp of CAD fundamentals and GD&T
  • Hands‑on understanding of workholding approaches, cutting tool selection, and gaging
  • Experience drafting process documentation and work instructions
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills
  • Compliance
  • Inserted verbatim from the original description:U.S. Citizenship required — this position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Government Security Clearance if needed. Selected candidates may be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
Bonus Points
  • CNC grinding experience
  • Background with aerospace and hardened steel alloys
  • Practical machining experience on the shop floor
Your Toolkit
  • CNC programming (Siemens NX preferred)
  • Turning/lathe operations
  • Siemens control environments
  • Grinding fundamentals

If you thrive in the turning realm and enjoy bringing rigor to both virtual simulation and real‑world optimization, this role puts your skill at the center of aerospace manufacturing.
