Job summary

Sioux Steel is seeking a dependable Machine Operator – TRUMPF Level 1 for our night shift in Lennox, SD. You'll operate TRUMPF laser and punch press, read blueprints, and form steel components from production orders.

This full-time, hourly role offers night-shift differential of $2.00/hour and a 4:00 PM–2:30 AM schedule Monday–Thursday. Training on day shift is required before transitioning to the night shift.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1+ year CNC or laser cutting experience preferred.
• Experience with TRUMPF, Amada, or similar CNC laser/punch press equipment is a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, CAD drawings, and work orders.
• Ability to use measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
• Basic computer skills and comfort working with machine interfaces or production software.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Willingness to complete company-provided training on TRUMPF operation, programming, and safety.

Responsibilities

• Operate TRUMPF laser or punch press equipment to produce steel parts to required specifications.
• Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and setup sheets.
• Load and unload materials safely using a forklift.
• Enter, adjust, or recall CNC programs as directed.
• Monitor machine operation and part quality throughout production.
• Inspect finished parts using appropriate measuring tools.
• Identify and report quality concerns, nonconforming materials, or equipment issues.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area.
• Participate in continuous improvement and 5S activities.
