Job summary

Grass America in Kernersville, NC is seeking an experienced machinist/tooling specialist to join our precision tooling team. The role requires setup and operation of manual and CNC mills and lathes, programming with Mastercam or Gibbs CAM, and interpreting complex blueprints and GD&T.

Candidates should have at least five years in metal stamping, strong communication, teamwork, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced shop. Join a hands-on, quality-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience required.
• Mastercam and Gibbs CAM experience required.
• Background in the metal stamping industry preferred.
• Knowledge of progressive stamping tooling, gauges, and fixtures.
• Knowledge of heat-treating processes.
• Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, GD&T.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate manual and CNC mills or lathes
• Program using CAM software ( Mastercam or Gibbs CAM)
• Interpret complex blueprints and GD&T requirements
• Manufacture precision tooling, dies, fixtures, or custom components
• Perform and document first-piece and in-process inspections
• Maintain tight tolerances (± .0005 or as required)
• Troubleshoot and correct machining issues
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment
