Job summary

NMG Aerospace in Kentucky is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist for a Sunday-Thursday 3rd shift (11:00pm–7:00am). Set up tooling, fixtures, and run complex parts with tight tolerances, using CNC lathes and mills with minimal supervision.

You will inspect parts, document process data, and collaborate with Engineering and Quality to ensure parts meet blueprints. A high school diploma is required; 4–7 years of CNC experience in a regulated environment is preferred; ability to read blueprints and

Qualifications

  • 4-7 years CNC machining experience in a regulated industry.
  • Ability to read blueprints and set-up/operate CNC machines.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; able to pass pre-employment screening.

Responsibilities

  • Set up tooling and fixtures on machines using engineering set up drawings.
  • Establish origins of machine to fixture and machining of first part to blueprint requirements.
  • Inspect and verify part.
  • Establish production standards and optimize production for maximum output while maintaining quality and blueprint requirements.
  • Perform in-process inspection and benching of part during machine cycle.
  • Complete all inspection data, SPC charts and certified operator documentation.
  • Compliance with safety standards and guidelines.
  • Maintain good housekeeping during all phases of production.
  • Make accurate and detailed transactions of work done in ERP software.
  • Work collaboratively with Engineering and Quality department representatives to ensure product meets set requirements.

Set up machines and machining of complex parts with close tolerances. Requires the ability to machine parts using CNC Lathe and/or CNC Mill with little or no supervision.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Set up tooling and fixtures on machines using engineering set up drawings.

Additional Duties:
  • Provide support for Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives, companywide.
  • Other duties, reporting, special assignments, or projects as needed and assigned.
  • Must remain current with, and complete all required training as assigned.
  • Must adhere to Company Corporate EHS Policy and department, occupation, and task specific safety protocols, including but not limited to Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements.
Qualifications:
  • 4-7 years CNC Machining experience in a regulated industry, aerospace preferred.
  • Knowledge of set-up and operation of CNC machines with excellent attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to read blueprints.
  • Physical Requirement include: standing for long periods of time, and lifting up to 40 lbs.
  • Must submit to and satisfactorily pass any pre-employment screening required for employment with the Company.
  • Must take medical exams required by law, in conjunction with occupation specific activities, the physical work environment, and ongoing industrial hygiene sampling results.
  • Depending on assignment, may be required to use stairs, remain upright and/or seated for prolonged timeframes, intermittently reposition the body per various tasks performed, and use various tools and work-related supplies.
