Job summary

Apex Geotech Drilling is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to develop and execute precision machining processes for drill rods and downhole components. You will set up fixtures, select tooling, and manage offsets to ensure first-piece success.

The role requires fluency in G-code, at least three years of CNC experience, and the ability to hold tight tolerances (±0.001 in). You will mentor operators and document production and inspection data for full traceability.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum 3 years of CNC machining experience.
• Fluency in G-code programming.
• Demonstrated ability to hold ±0.001" tolerances.
• CAM toolpathing experience with Mastercam or Fusion 360.
• Hands-on experience machining drill rods or downhole tools.

Responsibilities

• Engineer and execute complex setups—fixturing, tooling selection, and offsets—to ensure first-piece success.
• Machine tight-tolerance components from steel, aluminum, and specialty alloys with confidence.
• Inspect every feature to blueprint specifications and sign off on quality.
• Hunt down process issues, then apply corrective actions to boost quality and throughput.
• Mentor CNC Operators and Assistants to strengthen the bench.
• Capture accurate production and inspection data for full traceability.
