Job summary

Howmet Aerospace is seeking a CNC Tech II- 1st Shift for the Fullerton, CA location. The role involves operating CNC machines under supervision, setting up tooling, reading blueprints, and ensuring parts meet tolerances.

This on-site position requires adherence to safety and quality standards. The qualified candidate will have at least two years of CNC machining experience, knowledge of G/M codes, and proficiency with precision measuring tools.

Qualifications

• Requires minimum two years related experience or training in machine shop operation with CNC equipment or equivalent education/experience.
• Must be able to read blueprints and work instructions.
• Knowledge of cutting tools and G/M codes; excellent troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

• Selects and sets proper tooling as identified on tool layout.
• Makes set-ups using typical tooling fixtures and indicating target diameters, hole alignments, or spindle run out.
• Loads and proves out programs and runs first article samples; adjusts set-up to conform to dimensions and tolerances.
• Maintains documentation for each set-up (SPC charts, checklists, first article verification).
• Runs, monitors, and troubleshoots equipment in production; adjusts set-up as needed.
• Monitors tool life and dimensional characteristics; replenishes tooling as directed.
• Reads blueprints and uses micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and gauges as needed.
