Job summary

Avalign Technologies is seeking a skilled CNC Swiss Lathe Machinist to set up, operate, and maintain Swiss-style lathe equipment for medical instruments and implants. You will debug programs, optimize setups, and support NPI efforts to ensure quality and on-time delivery.

Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of experience on Swiss-style or multi-axis CNC lathes, strong reading of blueprints, and a commitment to lean practices.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; advanced technical training preferred.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience operating Swiss-style lathes in manufacturing or 3+ years on traditional multi-axis CNC lathes.
• Knowledge of machinery, tooling, measuring and gauging equipment relevant to assigned areas.

Responsibilities

• Perform machine setups, changeovers, and CNC program debugging with tool changes.
• Operate and maintain CNC Swiss-style machines, finishing machines, hand tools and fixtures; burr removal as needed.
• Read and interpret blueprints, inspection check-sheets, and work instructions.
• Use calipers, micrometers, height stands, and comparators for quality checks.
• Utilize ERP and machine monitoring systems to manage work orders and document quality checks.
• Provide feedback to CNC programmers and ensure setup documentation is current.
