Summary
Responsible for leading the second shift Fabrication Department by promoting a culture of safety, quality, accountability, and continuous improvement. Oversees daily production operations and supports Lean Manufacturing initiatives.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Ensure safety, on-time delivery, quality, and inventory management.
- Conduct performance evaluations and discipline associates as needed.
- Account for and process all parts before moving job orders to the next department.
- Follow block schedule to ensure timely completion of job orders.
- Maintain inventory of materials and parts for production.
- Coordinate inbound materials with designated Buyer/Planner.
- Ensure proper setup of all equipment in the Fabrication department.
- Provide necessary materials, parts, and tools for employees.
- Operate equipment safely in a steel fabrication environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Directly supervise employees in the department and carry out leadership responsibilities in accordance with organizational procedures.
Qualifications
- Proven leadership and supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of fabrication processes, CNC equipment, and production operations.
- Excellent communication, organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Commitment to safety, quality, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.

- Ability to build collaborative relationships across departments and with external partners.

Education and/or Experience
- Degree from a two-year college or technical school preferred.
- 2 years related experience and/or training in department assigned.
- Ability to read blueprints and understand geometric tolerances.
- Lean Manufacturing experience preferred.
