Job summary

ERA Industries, Inc. in Elk Grove Village, IL seeks a CNC Operator to set up and operate CNC machines, ensuring safe, quality production and on-time delivery.

You will document in-process inspections, maintain traceability in the ERP system, and keep the work area clean. Use calibrated tools and support other departments as needed; 2nd shift carries an 8% differential.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret drawings and work instructions.
• Experience with CNC machines (1+ year).
• Comfort using basic measuring tools and documenting quality checks.
• Willingness to be trained on missing aspects.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC machines safely to produce quality parts and meet production goals.
• Document in-process inspections and ERP entries for traceability.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and follow safety policies.
• Identify production issues, communicate with supervisor, and support other tasks as needed.
• Ensure calibrated measuring tools are used and reported if out of tolerance.
• Be a team player and contribute to process improvements and QMS effectiveness.
• Participate in 2nd shift with 8% shift differential.

Job description

Qualifications:

• Ability to properly read and interpret drawings, work instructions and in-process inspection plans.
• Ability to use basic measuring tools (Micrometer, Caliper, Thread Gages, Pin Gages, Bore Gages, Indicators).
• At least 1-year experience working on CNC machines.
• Employee does not have all the above, but is willing and able to be trained in these aspects.

Duties & expectations:

• Operate CNC machine in a manner that is safe, producing quality product and meeting production expectations as set forth by management.
• Document work on in-process inspection plans and the ERP system as applicable to maintain traceability and records.
• Keep work area clean and organized.
• Understand and be aware of FOD prevention and report any incidents to the department manager.
• Communicate any concerns or issues related to production of parts, safety and quality to supervisor for particular machine or project.
• Look for optimization of production time and understand the contribution to the effectiveness of the QMS.
• Be a team player in a team work environment.
• Have basic measuring tools (Caliper, Micrometer,ect).
• Only use calibrated measuring equipment whether personal or company supplied. If not in proper calibration, notify quality department to have calibrated immediately.
• Handle machines, parts, and inspection equipment in a manner that will not cause damage or compromise product integrity.
• In the event of lack of work or another department needing assistance, you are expected to do any of the following, not limited to: Deburring, Assembly, Cleaning, Shipping and Receiving.
• Maintain a positive attitude and punctuality.
• Aware of procedures, quality policies, objectives, contribution to conformance of product, safety, and ethics.
• 8% shift differential for working 2nd shift
