Job summary

Lumbermen’s, headquartered in Grand Rapids, MI, is seeking a Stone Fabrication team member based at the Byron Center facility. The role involves fabricating quartz, granite, and other countertops, with responsibilities from layout and cutting to labeling for shipment and inventory control.

Ideal candidates will have CNC exposure, the ability to read shop drawings, operate measuring tools, and work in a safety-minded, employee-owned environment.

Qualifications

• Mechanical aptitude for fabrication and safe operation of tools.
• Ability to read and interpret shop drawings and CAD templates.
• Accurate measurement using a tape measure and dimensions.
• Willingness to work as part of an employee-owned team.

Responsibilities

• Layout and optimize materials for each job.
• Measure and cut materials with saws, routers, polishers, and CAD tools.
• Build countertops to customer specifications.
• Prepare and label countertops for shipment.
• Maintain fabrication schedule with the office; overtime as needed.
• Perform machine and tooling maintenance.
• Maintain granite inventory for stock replenishment.
• Log material usage and costs in the system for each job.
• Keep the shop clean and assist other team members.
• Move tops and support workflow on the shop floor.
• Modify materials as needed (splash milling, quartz adjustments).
