Job summary

Amsted Rail in Granite City, Illinois is seeking a Maintenance Shop Machinist (CNC) to set up and operate NC/CNC machines for diversified production. The role requires reading blueprints, charting tolerances, and maintaining quality while following safety procedures.

Training on day or afternoon shift is provided, with union seniority determining final shift. Ideal candidates will have 2 years of manufacturing experience, a machining technology certificate, a high school diploma or GED, and

Responsibilities

• Set up and run NC/CNC machines for a variety of parts using engineering drawings.
• Inspect parts to required tolerances per drawings and in-process inspection.
• Finish parts to meet quality standards.
• Operate hoist/overhead crane/forklift to position castings.
• Record data including time and labor reporting and document defects properly.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment.

This position will be train on day or afternoon shift, after training the shift will depend on union seniority.
