Job summary

Meadville-Forging-Company in Crawford County, PA is seeking a Shift Supervisor with 3–5 years of machining experience to lead a team of 10–20 direct reports and various indirect personnel. You will drive quality, scheduling, training, inventory control, and safety initiatives on a fast-paced shop floor.

The role requires setting up tooling/fixturing, knowledge of G-codes, and proficiency with Word/Outlook; Excel is a plus.

Qualifications

• 3 – 5 years’ experience in machining.
• High school diploma.
• Set-up experience to include use of correct tooling/fixturing.
• Basic knowledge of G codes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook.
• Experience in Excel is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage all department activities to achieve efficient operational disciplines: Quality, Scheduling, Training, Inventory Management, Emergency procedures.
• Possess knowledge and understanding in areas: Quality TS16949, Shipping, Material Tracking System, Visual System, Time and Attendance.
• Ensure company policies and procedures are followed and applied.
• Responsible for disciplinary actions, including documentation with Plant Manager, Production Manager and HR.
• Ensure department conform to Environmental and OH&S Policies; handle safety, accident procedures and reporting.
• Oversee safety at work stations, 5S practices, and ongoing safety training.
• Perform essential inspection processes for production; promote continuous improvement mindset.

• Responsible for all disciplinary actions, including documentation and communication with the Plant Manager, Production Manager and HR department.
• Responsible for ensuring the department is conforming to all Environmental and OH&S Policies
• Responsible for all Safety activities in the department:
• Accident Procedures and reporting
• Emergency/ Evacuation Procedures and reporting
• Operator safety at their work station to include 5S practices
• Overall safety awareness and training
• Perform all essential inspection processes needed for production processes.
• Must be dedicated to a spirit of continuous improvement mindset and communicate this to your workforce on an ongoing basis.
• 10-hour OSHA or equivalent training
• Accident and investigation training
• Knowledgeable in creating NCMR Workflows in Q-Pulse when required

QUALIFICATION and EDUCATION:

• 3 – 5 years’ experience in machining
• High school diploma
• Set-up experience to include use of correct tooling/fixturing
• Basic knowledge of G codes
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook
• Experience in Excel is a plus

SCOPE of AUTHORITY:

• Responsible for approximately 10-20 direct reports and 2-10 indirect reports depending upon the shift. These include hourly production direct report employees and indirect Quality, Maintenance and temporary employees.
• Budgetary responsibility - None
