Job summary

Linamar Corporation is seeking a Setup Technician to maintain and program CNC machining and automated equipment, ensuring quality and minimal downtime. You will set up lathes, mills, grinders and write or modify CNC programs, collaborating with Engineering on launches.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years in a machine shop, solid knowledge of machine controls, GD&T, SPC data and the ability to read CMM reports.

Qualifications

• Four or more years in a machine shop
• Full understanding and knowledge of machine controls, tools and work offsets
• Knowledge of SPC methods, process and machine capability requirements
• Ability to interpret blueprints and GD&T
• Ability to read CMM reports

Responsibilities

• Set up equipment
• Write and/or modify CNC programs for lathes, milling machines, and grinders
• Set up CNC lathes, milling machines, grinders, SPMs based on process specifications
• Analyze out-of-tolerance conditions and adjust offsets
• Read and interpret CMM reports
• Assist with training other production technicians
• Provide supervision in the absence of the supervisor
