Job summary

Specialized Talent Acquisition Recruiting Team (START) in Michigan is seeking an experienced CNC technician to troubleshoot tooling, edit CNC programs, and participate in new product testing and changeovers. You will support automation, perform production setups, and train operators, while upholding safety and quality systems.

The role emphasizes problem-solving, blueprint reading, and hands-on maintenance of grinders, robots, and various CNC equipment within a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; no degree required.
• 3–5 years of experience in production with CNC equipment, mechanics or manufacturing.
• Experience with CNC programming and Fanuc controls/robots.
• Strong math, tool geometry and blueprint reading skills.
• Proficient in setup, troubleshooting and process improvement.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot tooling, process concerns and chronic machine problems.
• Edit CNC programs and test new products (tooling-carbide inserts and work holding).
• Complete changeovers and repair maintenance activities (grinders/robots/broach/CNC).
• Cycle time reductions and housekeeping of tool room area.
• Assist with APQP/PPAP processes and new process implementation.
• Perform production setups (chucks, collets, tool bars; read blueprints) and retrain robots.
• Support Engineering in Automation of cells and operator training on machining/PM tasks.
• Follow safety, environmental and quality system requirements.
