Job summary

HOERBIGER Automatisierungstechnik Holding GmbH is seeking a CNC Set Up Programmer for the 1st shift in the United States, based in Waukegan, IL. The role covers programming, setup, and operation of CNC lathes and VMCs, reading blueprints, and ensuring part accuracy.

Qualified candidates will have a High School diploma (GED ok), manufacturing experience, and GD&T blueprint interpretation skills. The position offers comprehensive benefits and opportunities for development.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED preferred.
• 5 years related experience preferred.
• Previous experience working in a manufacturing setting is required.
• Familiarity and skill with interpreting technical drawings and blueprints, including GD&T.
• The ability to work independently and closely follow directions is essential.
• Capable of standing for extended periods of time.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine correspondence.
• Ability to convert between metric and imperial units.

Responsibilities

• Read technical drawings and set up the machines in accordance with blueprints.
• Perform quality assurance tests to ensure products meet design specifications.
• Adjust machine cutting paths or settings to optimize production while maintaining quality.
• Consider tools required to cut materials and program machines accordingly.
• Troubleshoot and resolve problems with machines as they arise.
• Produce parts within specification. Obtain first piece approval from Quality Control Department.
• Measure parts with appropriate precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
• Maintain the run by loading and unloading parts and raw material; checking coolant levels; replacing chip bins; etc.
• Notify Team Lead of any discrepancies, or problems with equipment, material, tooling, or operating procedures.
• Completely debur, pack, and move completed parts.
• Use floor terminals to report work as performed in real time.
• Train new employees in how to properly operate CNC machines and programs.
• Maintain work area in a clean and orderly condition.
