Job summary

Sioux Manufacturing in Fort Totten District, ND, is seeking a Production Set-up Machinist to supervise machining operations and develop CNC programs for precision parts. You will train operators, direct production, and support other departments with tooling and process improvements.

The role requires an associate degree or apprenticeship in manufacturing/technical programming, plus exposure to CNC programming and tooling. Relocation assistance is available for those moving 50 miles or more.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or completion of an apprenticeship in manufacturing/technical programming.
• Education in math, geometry, statistics and blueprint reading is needed.
• Experience or knowledge of CNC programming and tooling recommended.

Responsibilities

• Supervise machining staff to meet delivery schedules.
• Develop and write CNC programs to produce parts per drawings.
• Evaluate procedures and tooling to maximize efficiency and reduce scrap.
• Start up/shut down equipment per safety procedures.
• Inspect work with precision measuring tools for conformance.
• Select tools and setup for specific jobs; load tooling as needed.
• Inspect and maintain tooling; replace dull/broken tools.
• Operate metalworking machines to meet specs.
• Train staff in machining area and assist with CNC programming for inspection via CMM.
• Collaborate with engineers and maintenance on equipment calibration and repair.
