Job summary

Lemco Precision Group seeks an experienced CNC Set-Up/Programmer to join our Redlands area team. You will program and set up Swiss-type Star CNC machines, read mechanical blueprints, and coordinate production to meet tight tolerances.

Qualified candidates have 5+ years of CNC setup experience, read and follow work instructions, and understand ISO quality policies. This role offers a stable, on-site position with competitive benefits.

Responsibilities

• Set up Star CNC Machines (Swiss Type) and manufacturing cells to meet timelines.

• Monitor project schedules and ensure production meets deadlines and budgets.
• Identify and mitigate risks in the production process and maintain quality standards.

Job description

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES

• Ability to program
• Must be able to read and understand mechanical blueprints.
• Must be motivated and self-directed.
• Good attendance and punctuality required, previous steady, work history a must.
• Must be able to work with a minimum amount of supervision and follow up.
• Must understand ISO Quality Policies and operate within its specification.
• Coordinates schedules and sets up Star CNC Machines (Swiss Type) and manufacturing cell(s), to meet timelines.
• Documents setups and trains other personnel on proper setup and operation of jobs.
• Maintains heightened awareness of the project schedules and ensures jobs are set up and run based on project deadlines and budget performance.
• Works with Production team to identify and mitigate risk in the production process and to ensure production standards and goals are achieved.
• Ability to check parts machined and make work offset adjustments when required to ensure parts are manufactured to control document specifications.
• Follow written and verbal instructions.
• Experience with copper and stainless-steel alloys, exotic metals is an asset

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

• Must be a qualified Set up person
• Minimum of 5 years of experience setting up and programming CNC machines manufacturing close tolerance precision products.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience with Quality Control Plans.
• Must be able to read and follow Work Instructions
• In-depth knowledge and interpretation CNC Programming language (G-Code)
• Read and Understand Set Up Sheets
• Knowledge of Cutting Tools, and cutting parameters (Speeds/Feeds)
