Job summary

Amsted Automotive Group is seeking a CNC Set Up Technician (3rd Shift) in Shelby Township, MI. This employee-owned company offers a robust benefits package and promotes hands-on innovation in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

You will program, troubleshoot, and optimize CNC operations, lead process improvements, and support launches from setup through first-piece approval while advancing Lean initiatives.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required
• CNC programming and machining experience preferred
• Experience with tooling, work holding and machine troubleshooting
• Knowledge of IATF 16949 and ISO 14001 quality systems

Responsibilities

• Programming, troubleshooting, and optimizing CNC machining operations
• Identifying and implementing process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce waste
• Training Team Leaders on machine setup, tooling, troubleshooting, and program adjustments
• Supporting new product launches from setup through first-piece approval
• Collaborating with Engineering and Maintenance on tooling, work holding, and manufacturing improvements
• Leading preventive maintenance initiatives and corrective actions
• Developing and updating operator work instructions and documentation
• Driving Lean Manufacturing initiatives and participating in continuous improvement activities
• Ensuring compliance with safety standards, including Lockout/Tagout procedures

What You'll Do

• Programming, troubleshooting, and optimizing CNC machining operations

What You Need To Succeed

• High School Diploma or GED
• Manufacturing, technical, or trade school education preferred CNC programming and machining experience
• Experience with tooling, work holding, machine troubleshooting, and process optimization
• Knowledge of IATF 16949, ISO 14001, and quality systems Strong computer and technical skills
