A strong attention to detail and blueprint reading skills are essential. We require 4-6 years of related experience or equivalent training, with the ability to train other operators and work in a cellular manufacturing setup.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 4-6 years of related experience or equivalent education/training.
• Ability to set up and operate CNC machines and related equipment.
• Proficient in performing the most complex setups.
• Capable of training General Operators to run machines as needed.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints and work instructions to determine cutting tools, speeds, and feed rates.
• Demonstrate working knowledge of feeds, speeds, and tool applications.
• Operate machinery safely and report safety hazards, malfunctions, or issues immediately.
• Start and set up machines based on setup sheets and monitor displays for malfunctions.
• Mount and align cutting tools.
• Change tools, adjust machines, and measure parts for conformance to blueprints.
• Perform in-process inspections to ensure dimensional accuracy.
• Read plans and sketches to execute machining plans.
• Operate multiple machines in a cellular environment.
• Enter and store programs in machine memory; generate/edit part programs to improve efficiency.

This roleis responsible forsetting up and operating CNC lathes and/ orMillsin a fast-paced, quality-driven environment. A strong attention to detail, ability to read blueprints, and experience working in a cellular manufacturing setup are essential.

CNC Set Up OperatorSummary

Shift: 1st

Salary: $25 - $35per hour based on experience.

CNC Set Up OperatorJob Duties:

Read and interpret blueprints and work instructions todetermineproper cutting tools, speeds, and feed rates.

Demonstrate working knowledge of feeds, speeds, and proper cutting tool applications.

Operate machinery safely and report any safety hazards, machine malfunctions, or equipment issuesimmediately.

Start and set up machines based on set up sheets, ensuring you are checking displays to detect any malfunctions.

Mount and align cutting tools.

Change cutting tools, make necessary machine adjustments, and measure parts to ensure conformance to blueprints.

Perform in-process inspections and ensure parts meet dimensional and quality requirements.

Read and interpret blueprints, planning sheets, and sketches to execute machining plans.

Maintain the ability tooperatemultiple machines in a cellular manufacturing environment.

Enter commands to create, retrieve, and store programs in machine computer memory.

Generate or edit part programs tooptimizeproduction efficiency, cost, and quality.

Review orders and drawings todeterminespecifications.??

Monitor machine functions, such as cutting depth, feed rate, and coolant flow, to ensure quality and prevent damage.

Load and unload parts, ensuring correct orientation of the product.

Stop machine and adjust settings and tools as needed tomaintainaccuracy andoptimalcutting conditions.

Regularly inspect workpieces using measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges) to verify dimensions and tolerances.

Accurately complete all required production documentation, including counts, scrap, and time logs.

Guide andassistother employees in machine operation and setup when needed.

Perform machine maintenance asrequired.

4-6 years of related experience or equivalent education/training.

Ability to set up andoperateCNC machines and related equipment.

Proficient in performing the most complex setups.

2+ years of industry experience

Experience with tight tolerances and precise measurement

Ability to read and understand blueprints
