Job summary

ProStaffing is partnering with a Huntersville area manufacturer to hire a CNC Machinist focused on precision and quality. You will setup and operate CNC equipment, read engineering drawings, and troubleshoot to maintain tight tolerances.

This hands-on role reports to the production team and offers stability in a full-time, direct-hire capacity. You will work 2:30pm-11pm, with a $30/hr base pay plus a $3 shift differential, in a high-volume shop environment that values continuous improvement and

Qualifications

• 5+ years CNC machining in production manufacturing.
• Experience with CNC setups, operation and troubleshooting.
• Ability to read complex drawings and GD&T requirements.
• Knowledge of precision measuring equipment and in-process inspection.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and adjust CNC and conventional machining equipment.
• Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, and machining specs.
• Make program/tooling adjustments and offsets for part accuracy.
• Inspect finished parts with precision measuring tools.
• Troubleshoot tooling, equipment, and part quality issues.
• Monitor feeds, speeds, and cutting conditions for efficiency.
• Perform machining calculations for dimensions and offsets.
• Document production, scrap, and downtime data.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering and QA to resolve issues.
• Support continuous improvement to reduce waste and cycle times.

ProStaffing is partnering with an established manufacturing company in the Huntersville area to identify an experienced CNC Machinist who takes pride in precision, quality, and efficiency.

This opportunity is ideal for a skilled machinist who enjoys hands-on work, understands CNC setups and machining processes, and can troubleshoot production challenges while maintaining tight tolerances.

What You'll Be Doing

1. Set up, operate, and make adjustments to CNC equipment and conventional machining equipment.


2. Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, machining specifications, and GD&T requirements.


3. Make necessary program adjustments, tooling changes, and machine offsets to maintain part accuracy.


4. Use precision measuring instruments to inspect finished parts and verify dimensional specifications.


5. Troubleshoot machining problems involving tooling, equipment performance, and part quality.


6. Monitor cutting conditions, tooling performance, feeds, and speeds to improve machining efficiency.


7. Perform calculations, including trigonometry, to determine machining dimensions and offsets.


8. Complete production documentation, including completed quantities, scrap, and equipment downtime.


9. Work with manufacturing, engineering, and quality teams to resolve production issues.


10. Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing waste, improving cycle times, and maintaining consistent product quality.


11. Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.

What We're Looking For

1. 5+ years of CNC machining experience in a production manufacturing environment.


2. Strong experience with CNC machine setups, operation, and troubleshooting.


3. Working knowledge of CNC controls, including Fanuc, Siemens, and Heidenhain.


4. Ability to interpret complex blueprints, GD&T, and machining instructions.


5. Experience using precision measuring equipment and performing in-process inspections.


6. Understanding of machining calculations, tooling selection, feeds, speeds, and offsets.


7. Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and quality requirements.


8. Experience with manual machining equipment.


9. Ability to work independently, prioritize production needs, and maintain quality standards.


10. Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and production documentation is a plus.


11. Technical school training or a machining apprenticeship is preferred.

Additional Details

1. Experience in high-volume manufacturing environments is preferred.


2. Backgrounds in automotive, aerospace, medical, or industrial manufacturing are beneficial.


3. Must be flexible to work overtime, weekends, or alternate shifts based on production needs.


4. Position involves standing, repetitive movements, and handling materials weighing up to 50 pounds, with reasonable accommodations available.
