Job summary

Methodist Hospital in San Antonio, TX seeks a Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) for Med Surg PCU to deliver high quality, patient-centered care and to coordinate unit functions in partnership with management. The CNC serves as a resource for staff and supports outstanding patient experiences.

Responsibilities include admissions/discharges, quality assessment, collaboration with experts, staff scheduling, training, and inventory control to sustain efficient, high-quality care.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse License in the State of Texas or Multi-State Compact License.
• 1 year of Nursing experience in a PCU setting.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.

Responsibilities

• Assists with admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient throughput and high quality patient care.
• Participates in ongoing assessment of the quality of patient care services in the unit with the management team.
• Collaborates with experts and managers to promote teamwork and improved outcomes.
• Supports a patient-first philosophy and service recovery when needed.
• Operationalizes nursing strategies to improve engagement, including employee rounding and hourly rounds.
• Provides recommendations on interviewing, selecting, and training staff; supports performance evaluations and disciplinary actions as needed.
• Assists with staff scheduling and labor management.
• Supports inventory control and supplies/equipment management.
