Job summary

Kensington360 in Los Angeles is seeking a highly skilled CNC Prototype Engineer to advance aerospace additive manufacturing. You will combine precision CNC milling/turning with additive post-processing to produce high‑tolerance metal components.

Candidates should have strong CNC programming, GD&T knowledge, and experience with CAD/CAM tools such as Mastercam, Fusion 360 or SolidWorks. You will work with engineering, manufacturing and QA to meet strict aerospace standards.

Qualifications

• Strong CNC programming and machining experience.
• Good understanding of GD&T, technical drawings and precision measurement.
• Experience with CAD/CAM.
• Background in aerospace or other high-tolerance manufacturing preferred.
• Experience with metal additive manufacturing/post-processing is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate and program CNC milling and turning machines.
• Machine complex, high-performance metal components and optimise toolpaths, tooling and cutting parameters.
• Read aerospace drawings, 3D models and GD&T.
• Use CAD/CAM software such as Mastercam, Fusion 360 or SolidWorks.
• Inspect parts using CMMs, micrometers, calipers and bore gauges.
• Troubleshoot issues such as chatter, tool wear, thermal distortion and tolerance drift.
• Carry out secondary processes such as finishing and EDM.
• Create machining documentation, setup sheets and control plans.
• Work with engineering, manufacturing and quality teams on continuous improvement and aerospace quality standards.
