Job summary

Lee Industrial Contracting in Pontiac, Michigan is seeking a seasoned CNC Programmer to develop and optimize CNC programs for milling and turning operations. You will interpret complex drawings and GD&T, choose tooling and cutting strategies, and collaborate with manufacturing teams to deliver high-quality components.

The role emphasizes problem solving, setup support, and continuous improvement of cycles and throughput, with an emphasis on safety and quality in a diverse production environment.

Qualifications

• Experience programming CNC mills, lathes, or multi-axis machining centers.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
• Experience with CAD/CAM software and CNC machining processes.
• Knowledge of tooling, feeds and speeds, machining strategies, and manufacturing best practices.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
• Experience supporting machine setup, process optimization, and production improvement initiatives.
• SolidWorks experience preferred; GibbsCAM experience is a plus.
• Reverse engineering experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop, edit, and maintain CNC programs for machining operations.
• Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and GD&T requirements.
• Determine optimal tooling, fixturing, and cutting parameters.
• Support machine setup and prove-out of new and revised programs.
• Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and programming issues to minimize downtime.
• Improve cycle times and manufacturing efficiency while maintaining quality standards.
• Collaborate with production and operations teams on new product introductions and process improvements.
• Assist with quality inspections and verification of finished components.
• Support estimating and purchasing activities as needed.
• Operate CNC machines when necessary to support production requirements and validate programming changes.
• Maintain program documentation and revision control.
• Follow all safety, quality, and company procedures.
