Job summary

RBC in Weaverville, NC is seeking an Engineering Technician to support CNC programming, tooling development, machine setup, and process optimization to improve safety, quality, and efficiency.

You will work with engineering and production teams on tool design, program maintenance for CNC equipment, and Lean kaizen initiatives.

Candidates should have an associate degree and 3–5 years CNC manufacturing experience, with AutoCAD/SolidWorks and MS Office skills.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in engineering or related field is highly desired.
• 3–5 years of CNC machining or manufacturing experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups, vendors, customers, employees, tool suppliers, etc.
• Ability to calculate figures and measurements.
• Ability to apply algebra, geometry and trigonometry.
• Ability to follow written, oral, or diagram instructions.
• Knowledgeable in AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to engineering department and production units.
• Write and maintain CNC programs and delivery system.
• Install and test process tooling per project engineering.
• Lead kaizen events and Lean manufacturing efforts.
• Provide off shift support on the shop floor.
• Assist engineering in process development for maximum efficiency.
• Knowledge of cutting tool geometry, speeds, and feeds.
• Solid analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Use AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks and MS Office.
• Plan Made-To-Order production schedules as needed.
