Hirebridge in Connecticut is seeking an experienced CNC Programmer to develop, optimize, and support high-precision aerospace machining programs using Siemens NX or comparable CAD/CAM software. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of CNC experience, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering and quality teams to improve process efficiency.
Experience with large castings or rotating aerospace components is a plus.
Job Type: Full-Time
A precision aerospace manufacturing company is seeking an experienced CNC Programmer to develop, optimize, and support machining programs for complex, high-precision components.
Experience with Siemens NX (UG NX) is strongly preferred; however, candidates with experience using other CAD/CAM programming platforms will be considered, particularly those who have worked with large castings, rotating aerospace components, or similarly complex machined parts.
This position works closely with Manufacturing Engineering and production teams to develop efficient CNC programs, establish machining processes, select tooling, and improve manufacturing performance.
The ideal candidate combines strong CNC machining knowledge with programming experience, an understanding of complex part geometries, and the ability to develop reliable manufacturing processes.
We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in one or more of the following areas:
Siemens NX CNC Programmers: Professionals experienced in NX CAM programming who can develop and optimize machining programs for complex precision components.
Experienced CAD/CAM Programmers: Candidates proficient in Mastercam, ESPRIT, CATIA, hyperMILL, or comparable programming software who have worked with large castings or rotating aerospace components.
Aerospace CNC Programmers: Individuals experienced in machining complex aerospace parts, particularly rotating components, engine-related parts, and precision castings.
CNC Machinists Transitioning into Programming: Experienced machinists with strong shop-floor knowledge, exposure to CAD/CAM programming, and hands-on experience machining large or complex aerospace components.
Manufacturing Professionals with Complex Machining Experience: Individuals who understand advanced tooling, workholding, machining sequences, and process development for large castings or rotational components.
We are more interested in finding someone who understands complex aerospace machining and has strong programming fundamentals than limiting our search to candidates who already use Siemens NX.
Candidates with experience programming other CAD/CAM platforms are encouraged to apply if they have relevant machining experience.
Develop, modify, and optimize CNC programs for complex precision-machined components using Siemens NX or comparable CAD/CAM software.
Create machining programs and process plans for large castings, rotating aerospace components, and other complex parts.
Review engineering drawings, CAD models, blueprints, and technical specifications to determine machining requirements.
Develop efficient machining strategies, toolpaths, cutting sequences, and setup procedures.
Select cutting tools, fixtures, workholding solutions, speeds, feeds, and machining parameters.
Calculate machining dimensions, angles, radii, and geometric requirements.
Develop detailed setup sheets, tooling instructions, and manufacturing process documentation.
Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering and production teams to establish efficient and repeatable machining processes.
Support CNC program prove-outs, machine setups, and troubleshooting activities.
Assist with machine operation during program testing and validation when required.
Analyze and revise programs to eliminate errors, improve machining performance, and reduce cycle times.
Utilize CNC simulation and verification software to identify potential machining issues before production.
Support corrective action investigations involving programming-related nonconformances.
Work with Quality and Manufacturing teams to reduce scrap, improve dimensional accuracy, and increase manufacturing efficiency.
Develop and maintain in-process inspection procedures and related documentation.
Support tooling setup and presetting using precision measuring equipment.
Maintain accurate programming documentation, setup instructions, and revision histories.
Follow established safety, quality, and continuous improvement practices.
Minimum of 5 years of manufacturing or CNC machining experience.
Experience with CNC programming or CAD/CAM software, including Siemens NX, Mastercam, ESPRIT, CATIA, hyperMILL, or comparable platforms.
Strong understanding of CNC machining processes, tooling, setups, and workholding.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, CAD models, and technical specifications.
Knowledge of cutting tools, machining parameters, speeds, feeds, and manufacturing processes.
Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of complex machining operations.
Experience working with complex machined components and tight-tolerance manufacturing requirements.
Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Computer proficiency and ability to learn new programming software.
Ability to collaborate effectively with engineering, manufacturing, and quality personnel.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Siemens NX (UG NX) CNC programming experience.
Experience programming and machining large castings, rotating aerospace components, or aircraft engine components.
Experience with complex multi-axis machining operations.
Experience programming precision components with challenging geometries and tight tolerances.
Familiarity with Vericut or comparable CNC program simulation and verification software.
Experience with Zoller tool presetting or tooling management systems.
Experience developing CNC setup sheets, tooling documentation, and machining processes.
Experience troubleshooting CNC programs and optimizing machining cycles.
Technical or vocational education in CNC machining, manufacturing technology, or a related discipline.
Previous aerospace, defense, or other precision manufacturing experience.
