Job summary

Torrey Holistics is seeking a skilled CNC programmer and setup technician to support our precision manufacturing operations. You will independently program, set up, and prove out milling and turning jobs from engineering prints, developing efficient tool paths in Mastercam while optimizing cycle times and tool life.

You will select tooling, fixtures and fixturing strategies for tight-tolerance parts, establish feeds and speeds, and perform first-piece inspection to ensure parts meet spec.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of hands-on CNC programming and setup experience on milling and turning centers.
• Advanced proficiency in Mastercam.
• Strong blueprint reading including GD&T interpretation.
• Experience troubleshooting CNC programs and setups.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.

ROLE OVERVIEW:CNC programmer / Setup technician to support complex tool room manufacturing operations.Key ResponsibilitiesIndependently program, set up, and prove out CNC milling and turning jobs from engineering prints.Develop efficient tool paths using Mastercam, including optimization of cycle times and tool life.Select tooling, fixtures, and work holding strategies appropriate for tight-tolerance machining.Establish and refine feeds, speeds, and cutting strategies based on material and geometry.Troubleshoot and resolve machining, tooling, and program-related issues in real time.Perform first-piece inspection and in-process quality verification to ensure parts meet tight tolerances.Continuously improve processes related to safety, quality, and machining efficiency.Support tool room and production needs with a high level of accountability and ownership.Performs other duties as assigned.Education and ExperienceMinimum 5+ years of hands-on CNC programming and setup experience on both milling and turning centers (required)Advanced proficiency in Mastercam (required)Knowledge and SkillsDemonstrates ability to machine precision components with tight tolerances (required)Strong blueprint reading skills including GD&T interpretation (required)Proven experience troubleshooting and optimizing CNC programs and setups (required)Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment (required)**Preferred Qualifications **Tool room or R&D prototype machining experienceExperience with complex geometries, multi-operation parts, or tight-tolerances work.Strong understanding of work holding, fixturing, and process planning
