Job summary

NST CORPORATION in Lafayette, LA, seeks a skilled CNC Programmer / Set Up Man to join our team. You will create CNC programs from blueprints, develop process plans, and assist machinists with tooling and first-part runs for approval. You will collaborate with the shop coordinator, foreman, and QC Manager to understand customer needs and communicate accurate process plans for machinists.

Qualifications

• Must have 10+ years of experience in machine shop manufacturing and remanufacturing.
• Self-starter needing minimum supervision.
• Must be capable of reading prints.
• Must be capable of programming Mazak CNC lathes.

Responsibilities

• Create and file programs to be stored as manufacturing records.
• Create process plans for machined parts.
• Program/operate Mazak CNC machines efficiently.
• Make sound machining decisions.
• Lead a group of employees in the machine shop.
• Train less experienced machinists by helping them get set up with tooling and programs.
• Promote respect, courtesy, dependability, good housekeeping, motivation and safety daily.
• Able to lift 30 lbs and/or pass a physical function test.

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled CNC Programmer / set up man to join our team. As a CNC Programmer / set up man, you'll help to get jobs started which includes creating CNC programs (derived from blueprints) creating and process plans and helping machinists set tooling and run first parts for approval. Responsibilities will include collaborating with the shop coordinator, foreman and QC Manager to understand our customer's needs and in‑turn, help communicate accurate process plans for machinists.

Qualifications

• Must have minimum of 10 years experience in machine shop manufacturing and remanufacturing.
• Must be self‑starter needing minimum supervision.
• Must be capable of reading prints.
• Must be capable of programming Mazak CNC lathes.
