Job summary

Key People is seeking a skilled CNC Programmer to develop and optimize programs for precision machined parts. You will work closely with machinists, manufacturing engineering, and quality to translate requirements into safe, efficient processes that meet specs.

Responsibilities include writing and modifying programs from drawings, selecting tools, verifying with simulations, supporting first-piece prove-outs, and improving toolpaths for consistency and quality.

Qualifications

• Experience CNC programming in a precision manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and apply GD&T to machining processes.
• Working knowledge of G-code, M-code, machining principles, cutting tools, and workholding.
• Experience with CAD/CAM software, program verification, and shop-floor troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Create, modify, and maintain CNC programs from drawings and requirements.
• Develop machining sequences and select tools, holders, setups, speeds and feeds.
• Use CAD/CAM tools to simulate and verify programs and identify risks.
• Support first-piece prove-outs, machine setups, troubleshooting, and program adjustments on the floor.
• Optimize toolpaths, cycle times, tool life, surface finish, and dimensional consistency.
• Prepare setup sheets, tooling lists, program documentation, and operator instructions.
• Collaborate with quality to address dimensional issues and verify print requirements.
• Assist with fixture concepts and feedback on manufacturability and recurring issues.
