Job summary

Kloeckner Metals - Americas is seeking a CNC Programmer/Operator for the 2nd shift (3:00 p.m.–11:00 p.m.). You will read blueprints, program CNC machines, and set up to spec, ensuring quality and efficiency in production.

Proficiency in CAD/CAM tools and experience with Haas VF-8/40 is a strong plus. Responsibilities include machine setup, operation, calibration, quality checks, and maintenance, with emphasis on safety and accuracy.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; vocational CNC training considered a plus.
• 1+ years of CNC machining experience or equivalent training.
• Proficiency in programming CNC machines and CAD/CAM software; HAAS VF-8/40 experience advantageous.
• Ability to work unsupervised and manage tasks with high precision.
• Strong problem-solving abilities to troubleshoot machine performance and production issues.
• Excellent mechanical aptitude and ability to handle complex equipment.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for maintenance records and production data.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine machining requirements and parameters.
• Program CNC machines using CAD/CAM software to generate precise instructions.
• Set up CNC machines by installing tools and loading materials for production.
• Operate Haas VF-8/40 Milling machine with adherence to specs.
• Adjust machine settings and calibrate equipment to meet specifications.
• Perform first article inspections and quality checks on machined parts.
• Maintain and clean CNC machines; document maintenance and production data.
• Manage scrap and keep workspace clean and organized.
