Job summary

Dover Precision Components, onsite in Antigo, Wisconsin, is seeking an experienced CNC Programmer to join its manufacturing team. You will analyze drawings, set up CNC mills and lathes, and write programs for multi-axis machines using CAD/CAM tools and G codes.

Requirements include 2–4 years operating CNC mills/lathe, certification from an accredited technical school preferred, and a strong background in reading blueprints and GD&T.

Qualifications

• Certification from accredited technical school is preferred.
• 2–4 years’ experience operating a CNC mill or lathe.
• Minimum of 6 years in manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes drawings, sketches and design data of part to determine dimension and configuration of cuts, selection of cutting tools and machine speeds and feed rates.
• Analyzes routings during programming stage and updates processes to ensure CNC machine tools are used to their fullest capability.
• Writes programs utilizing cadcam and 3D program verification software.
• Revises program to eliminate instruction errors or omissions.
• Determines work procedures and expedites workflow.
• Creates standard work documents for CNC machines in regard to tooling and programs.
• Continuous improvement of tooling and programs
• Makes improvements to set up times for a task,
• Simplifies tooling and setup for workers and increases productivity for the client.
• Evaluates completed designs to validate their functions and ensure they successfully reduce time and cost, protecting the margin of our product.
• Monitors programs to make sure they follow blueprint instructions and safely and successfully complete the task.
