Job summary

NCW is seeking an experienced CNC Programmer/Machinist to join our client’s manufacturing team in Mishawaka, IN. The role involves programming, setting up, and operating CNC lathes and milling machines to produce precision components.

The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of turning operations, blueprint reading, CNC programming, tooling selection, and machining processes with emphasis on safety and production efficiency.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with hands-on CNC lathe or milling experience.
• CNC technical degree or certificate preferred.
• 3–5 years in a CNC environment.
• Experience with Mitsubishi, Haas controls, Mastercam, and CAD software desirable.
• Ability to read blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, dimensional data, surface locations, and interpret geometrical dimensions and tolerances.
• Determine the sequence of shaping operations and select appropriate tooling and inserts.
• Validate programs using Mastercam software.
• Write or modify existing CNC programs and store them electronically.
• Operate CNC milling machine tool capacities, limitations, machinability of materials, and shop math.
• Operate CNC lathe to perform facing, reaming, boring, turning, and grooving functions.
• Utilize knowledge of machine tool capacities, machinability of materials, and shop math.
• Perform dimensional validation using micrometers, calipers, and other tools.
• Set up mills or lathes by installing jaws, vises, stops, and holding devices.
• Transfer stock to machines manually or with an overhead crane.
• Log all work activities into labor reporting software.
• Adhere to safety policies and PPE requirements.

Position Summary

The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of turning operations, blueprint reading, CNC programming, tooling selection, and machining processes, with a focus on safety, accuracy, and production efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up mills or lathes by installing and adjusting jaws, vises, stops, and all material holding devices
• Obtain and transfer stock to machines manually or with an overhead crane
• Log all work activities into labor reporting software throughout the working day
• Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures including PPE requirements to perform the job safely

Qualifications & Skills

• High school diploma or equivalentisrequiredwithdemonstratedhands-onproficiencyin CNClathes orCNCmilling and turning metal removal production systems
• CNC technical degree or equivalent certificate programs aredesired
• 3 -5 years of working experience in a CNC environment
• Experience with Mitsubishi, Haas, controls, Mastercam, andSolidworksCAD is desirable
• Ability to read and interpretblueprints
• Ability to work overtime asrequired
• Working knowledge of equipment and tools being used

Employment Type & Compensation

• Full-Time | Temp-to-Hire
• Compensation:$28.00 - $35.00 per hour, based on experience
• ApplicationPeriod:This position will remain open until filled

Work Schedule

• Monday – Friday | 6:30 AM – 3:15 PM
