Nextech Solutions in Middleton, TN seeks a hands-on CNC Programmer/Machinist to edit and troubleshoot G-code for mills, lathes, and VTLs. You will work with operators on setups, offsets, tooling, and real-time problem solving to keep production moving.

The role is Monday–Friday, 6:00 a.m. start with flexibility up to 7:30 a.m., onsite. You will develop CAM programs when priorities allow and interact with engineering on drawings and first-piece inspections.

Qualifications

• Machinist background with experience editing existing manual G-code on CNC mills, lathes, and VTLs.
• Ability to create new programs by copying and modifying existing programs.
• Hands-on experience with machine setups, work offsets, and existing fixtures and workholding.
• Experience with multiple CNC controllers (Fanuc, Mitsubishi, Okuma, Giddings & Lewis).
• Ability to interpret blueprints, identify drawing or model errors, and use precision measuring tools for first-piece inspection.
• Strong communication and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with CAM software such as SolidCAM is preferred.
• Four-axis milling and live-tooling experience.
• Ability to run machines independently to prove programs.

Responsabilités

• Verify first-piece inspections using micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and bore gauges.
• Research unfamiliar controller functions and existing programs independently, and serve as the primary contact for the shop area when needed.
• Support program prove-outs, including running machines when able and an operator is unavailable.
• Develop CAM programs as production priorities allow, choosing an approach that supports a timely production response.

Job Title: CNC Programmer / Machinist

Location: Middleton, TN | Onsite

Overview

The CNC Programmer / Machinist supports machine-shop production by editing and troubleshooting manually written G-code for CNC mills, lathes, and vertical turret lathes (VTLs). This hands-on role works alongside operators on setups, work offsets, tooling, and program issues, with a focus on adapting existing programs and workholding to keep production moving.

The schedule is Monday–Friday, eight hours per day, on first shift. Production starts at 6 a.m.; start-time flexibility is available up to 7:30 a.m.

Key Responsibilities

• Strong communication and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to work alongside operators and respond to changing production needs.

Preferred Qualifications

• SolidCAM experience for mills and lathes, or proficiency with other CAM software.


• Four-axis milling and live-tooling experience.


• Ability to run machines independently to prove programs when operators are unavailable.
