Job summary

Mindtris is seeking a CNC Programmer / Machinist in Middleton, TN, onsite for a 6–9 month assignment. The role involves editing and troubleshooting G-code for mills, lathes, and VTLs, with collaboration with operators to resolve issues, set up machines, and optimize tooling and fixtures for faster production.

Experience with manual and CAM programming is valued; the candidate should be able to modify existing programs and understand multiple controllers (Fanuc, Mitsubishi, Okuma, GL).

Qualifications

• Machinist background with CNC programming experience.
• Edit existing G-code on mills, lathes and VTLs; create new programs.
• Interpret blueprints and verify drawings for discrepancies.
• Use precision measuring tools for first-piece inspection.
• Work with multiple controllers and independently research unfamiliar functions.

Responsibilities

• Edit and troubleshoot existing G-code programs for mills, lathes, and VTLs.
• Create new programs by modifying existing programs to meet job requirements.
• Assist operators with machine setup, work offsets, and solve alarms or tool issues.
• Adapt fixtures, workholding, and jigs to reduce setup time and improve production.
• Interpret blueprints and report discrepancies to engineering.
