Job summary

Orchid Orthopedic Solutions in Michigan is seeking a skilled CNC Programmer to write programs for CNC machines used to manufacture hip and knee implants.

You will generate toolpaths from CAD data, modify models for stability, and support manufacturing with troubleshooting and training. This role requires 5+ years of programming and tooling experience; familiarity with Unigraphics, MasterCAM, and SolidWorks is a plus.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of programming, tooling, and CNC operation experience.
  • Proficiency in blueprint reading and CAD.
  • Experience with multi-axis machining and tool die design.

Responsibilities

  • Generate efficient toolpaths from CAD models.
  • Modify models to produce stable toolpaths.
  • Develop processes ensuring stability and repeatability.
  • Troubleshoot manufacturing issues and machines.
  • Create toolpaths for parts and fixtures.
  • Design fixtures using SolidWorks.

SHIFT

LAN - Shift 1 ($0) (United States of America - Michigan)

A BRIEF OVERVIEW
The CNC Programmer is responsible for writing programs for the CNC machines according to customer specifications to manufacture product.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Generate efficient toolpath utilizing supplied CAD models.
  • Modify models as required to generate stable toolpath.
  • Develop manufacturing processes ensuring process stability and repeatability.
  • Troubleshoot manufacturing issues and support manufacturing to resolve these issues.
  • Troubleshoot and identify machine problems.
  • Use Unigraphics and MasterCAM modeling as required to generate and modify part and die models.
  • Use Unigraphics and MasterCAM programming as required to generate toolpath for parts and fixtures.
  • Utilize inspection equipment as required to measure parts.
  • Create/edit programs to ensure processes are complete and quality of parts are met
  • Design fixtures for manufacturing production and prototype using the software SolidWorks
  • Assist with maintaining CNC program directory up to date
  • Provide CNC Programming Training to CNC Operators and other Programmers
  • Perform changes per engineer change request (ECR) and engineer change order (ECO) process work instructions
  • Create tool paths from prints and models
  • Evaluate jobs for correct method of manufacturing
  • Program jobs to CAD file or print

EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Or Equivalent (Preferred)
  • Associates (Preferred)

EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of experience programming, tooling, and operating manual and CNC equipment (Required)
