Job summary

Orchid Orthopedic Solutions in Chelsea, MI is seeking an Operations Technician, Finishing to perform cosmetic inspection, trimming, part marking, packaging, and washing of parts to achieve the required surface finish.

You will inspect quality, report defects, use ERP and GDP on CI sheets, keep tools clean, follow 5S, and support Lean, EHS, and QMS procedures.

Qualifications

• High School Or Equivalent preferred.
• No previous work experience required preferred.
• Manufacturing experience preferred.
• Attention to detail and quality.

Responsibilities

• Inspect part quality.
• Detect and report defective material and any unusual conditions to the department Supervisor or Lead.
• Utilize ERP system.
• Utilize GDP on CI Sheets and work orders.
• Maintain work area, tools and equipment in a clean and organized condition.
• Follow designated safety rules and regulations.
• Support Lean Manufacturing and EHS initiatives.
• Dimensionally inspect work using calipers, comparators, pin gauges, measuring instruments and surface plates.
• Perform weekly housekeeping per 5S schedule.
• Follow work orders to perform operations on various parts and products.
• Reinforce safety expectations and report issues to Supervisor.
• Support quality and compliance by adhering to procedures, work instructions, and forms per QMS.
• Complete all required training.

A BRIEF OVERVIEW
The Operations Technician, Finishing performs various operations including but not limited to cosmetic inspection, trimming, part marking, packaging, and wash on parts to achieve the required surface dimension and finish.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Inspect part quality
• Detect and report defective material and any unusual conditions to the department Supervisor or Lead
• Utilize ERP system
• Utilize GDP on CI Sheets and work orders
• Maintain work area, tools and equipment in a clean and organized condition.

• Follow designated safety rules and regulations.
• Support Lean Manufacturing and EHS initiatives.
• Dimensionally inspect work, using appropriate tools including, but not limited to; calipers, comparators, pin gauges, measuring instruments and surface plates, etc. as required.
• Perform weekly housekeeping per 5S schedule.
• Follow work orders to perform operations on various parts and products
• Reinforces safety expectations.Ensures safety operating practices are demonstrated.Reports issues/concerns to Supervisor.
• Support quality and compliance by adhering to all procedures, work instructions, and forms per the Quality Management Systems (QMS).
• Completes all required training.
