Job summary

The Lighthouse for the Blind, Inc. is seeking a skilled CNC Programmer II to independently program 3- and 4-axis mills and lathes using Mastercam (Mill, Lathe, Multiaxis) and verify with Vericut.

The role focuses on aerospace-friendly machining, GD&T-reading, and on-floor program validation with machinists. Ideal candidates have 5+ years of CNC programming, Mastercam (Multiaxis) experience, and familiarity with ISO 9001/AS9100 quality environments.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years CNC programming experience
• 3+ years hands-on Mastercam experience (Multiaxis preferred)
• Experience with 4- and 5-axis workholding and setup
• GD&T reading and interpretation in ASME Y14.5
• Strong blueprint and 3D model reading skills
• ISO 9001 / AS9100 environment experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Develops and optimizes CNC programs for 3- and 4-axis mills and lathes
• Verifies programs in Vericut prior to floor release
• Designs workholding for four-axis setups and fixtures
• Selects tools, feeds, speeds; maintains tool library
• Creates setup sheets and operator instructions
• Proofs out programs on the machine and assists with first articles
• Edits G-code at the control as needed
• Maintains revision control of CNC programs and documentation
• Coordinates with QA, estimating, and purchasing as needed
