Job summary

The Lighthouse for the Blind, Inc. in Seattle, WA seeks a skilled CNC Programmer II to independently program 3- and 4-axis mills and lathes in Mastercam with Vericut verification. Aerospace machining background and GD&T proficiency are highly valued.

Responsibilities include setup, tooling decisions, and on-floor validation with machinists. Minimum 5+ years of CNC programming, a 4-year degree, and strong blueprint reading are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; 4-year degree preferred.
• 5+ years of CNC programming experience, including 3+ years on 4-axis milling.
• Mastercam experience with Vericut verification required or strongly preferred.
• AS9100/ISO 9001 environment and GD&T reading is essential.
• Ability to read complex blueprints and 3D models.

Responsibilities

• Develops, edits, and optimizes CNC programs for 3- and 4-axis mills and lathes.
• Programs with Mastercam and verifies programs in Vericut prior to floor release.
• Designs 4-axis workholding to minimize setups and maximize spindle time.
• Creates setup sheets, tool lists, and operator instructions.
• Proves out programs on the floor and supports first article inspection.
• Maintains tooling libraries, estimates setup/run times, and improves processes.
