Job summary

Ourclient is a well-established, third-generation family-owned precision sheet metal fabrication and contract manufacturing company. The CNC Programmer will support programming and production of precision sheet metal components on-site at our Rochester-area facility, collaborating across engineering, production, and QA to ensure accurate and efficient programs.

The role emphasizes hands-on CNC programming in a fast-paced environment with a focus on quality and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Hands-on CNC programming in a sheet metal fabrication environment with CAD skills.
• Ability to read and interpret customer drawings, models and prints.
• Strong understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes and manufacturing flow.

Responsibilities

• Program multiple CNC equipment types (press brakes, laser turrets, blanking equipment).
• Create and optimize nests from customer models and drawings.
• Develop production-ready programs using SolidWorks and CNC software.
• Operate with Amada VPSS4iE Blank for blanking and nesting.
• Assist with press brake programming and other sheet metal programming needs.
• Respond to shop-floor programming questions and support setup issues.
• Close Non-Conformance Material Reports (NCMRs) and address pre-production actions.
• Review customer models and prints for manufacturability and programming accuracy.
• Collaborate with engineering and production to resolve manufacturing issues.
• Identify opportunities to improve programming efficiency and material utilization.
• Support facility transition activities as needed.
