Job summary

Begell House Inc. is seeking a CNC Programmer in Reisterstown, MD to develop and optimize CNC programs for 3–5 axis mills and lathes at our on-site manufacturing cell. The role requires ensuring quality, toolpath efficiency, and documentation in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of CNC programming experience, strong GD&T knowledge, and proficiency with CAM software such as Mastercam or NX. This on-site position offers competitive hourly pay and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of five (5) years of CNC programming experience (mills and/or lathes).
  • Strong understanding of GD&T and blueprint reading.
  • Experience with multi-axis machining (3, 4, and/or 5-axis).
  • Proficiency with CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, NX, or similar) preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

Skills we are seeking: Mastercam, Siemens NX, Esprit, Autodesk Fusion, Multi-axis programming (3-axis/4-axis/5-axis, up to 9-axis), Mill and Lathe experience, complete setup experience

Position Summary

We are a leading manufacturing partner to aerospace, defense, and space OEMs and Tier I suppliers. The company specializes in producing high-tolerance, complex geometry components from standard and exotic metals, supporting mission‑critical civilian and defense programs.

Job Purpose

The CNC Programmer is responsible for developing, optimizing, and maintaining CNC programs to meet established standards of quality, productivity, and delivery within the assigned work cell.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and optimize CNC programs for 3, 4, and 5-axis mills and CNC lathes
  • Equipment in‑house: Mazak, DMG Mori, Okuma, Brother Industries, Doosan (DN Solutions), Haas Automation, Makino, and others
  • Take full responsibility for CNC programming and process execution for assigned parts and equipment
  • Improve manufacturing processes through tooling recommendations, fixture design, and cycle time optimization
  • Collaborate with machinists, operators, and cross‑functional teams to ensure efficient and accurate production
  • Support new product introduction (NPI) and maintain high standards on repeat production work
  • Ensure all programs and processes meet quality requirements, including GD&T standards
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities to enhance quality, efficiency, and throughput
  • Maintain accurate documentation including work instructions and program revisions
  • Adhere to all safety, quality, and operational procedures
Requirements
  • Minimum of five (5) years of CNC programming experience (mills and/or lathes)
  • Strong understanding of GD&T and blueprint reading
  • Experience with multi‑axis machining (3, 4, and/or 5‑axis)
  • Proficiency with CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, NX, or similar) preferred

Compensation

$40.00 – $45.00 per hour, depending on experience
