Job summary

AT&F in Cleveland is seeking a CNC Programmer to design programs for large, project-based parts used in submarine-related fabrications. You will review engineering prints, select tooling, and create, catalog, and maintain CNC programs and setup procedures for multi-axis machines.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in CNC programming with Mastercam/GibbsCAM/Siemens Sinumerik One, and Siemens controller experience is a plus. You will help train newer machinists and support quoting on new projects.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of CNC programming experience with Mastercam, GibbsCAM, or Siemens Sinumerik One.
  • Siemens controller experience is a plus.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, GD&T, and inspection methods.

Responsibilities

  • Create programs for large, project-based parts.
  • Review engineering prints and select tooling.
  • Create, catalogue and maintain CNC programs and setup procedures.
  • Determine machining sequences and setup requirements.
  • Schedule PM and coordinate service technicians for repairs.
  • Assist machinists with troubleshooting for large 5-axis machines (VTL/HBM).
  • Assist in quoting of new projects.
  • Perform trial runs in Digital Twin software to verify programs.
  • Inspect and measure machined components to ensure progress.
  • Assist in training less experienced AT&F machinists.

The Goals and Challenges of this Role:
  • Create programs for large, project-based parts
  • Review engineering prints, select and acquire appropriate tooling.
  • Create, catalogue and maintain CNC programs and set-up procedures.
  • Determine machining sequence and setup requirements
  • Schedule equipment PM and contact service technicians to repair equipment.
  • Work with machinist troubleshooting issues with programs and approach to completing the projects on large scale 5 axis machines (VTL and HBM)
  • Assist with quoting of new projects.
  • Perform trial runs in Digital Twin software to verify program and machine settings
  • Inspection and measurement of machined components to confirm project is progressing correctly
  • Assist in training and developing less experienced AT&F machinists
What You Should Bring to this Role:
  • 3+ years of experience in CNC Programming with Mastercam, GibbsCAM, or Siemenst Sinumerik One.

  • Siemens Controller experience is a plus
  • Desire to work with the latest machining technology in terms of machining equipment, controller technology, and Digital Twin
  • Experience in dealing with lower run quantities per part.
  • Ability to interpret blueprint/drawing specifications and GD&T.
  • Applied experience with various inspection methods (hand gages, CMM, etc.)
  • Basic computer skills for email, web-based communications.
