Job summary

Rust Belt Recruiting seeks a CNC Programmer to develop and optimize multi-axis CNC programs for large-scale, custom fabrications and assemblies. You will bridge engineering design and shop-floor execution to improve accuracy, efficiency, and innovation on advanced machining centers.

The role requires 3+ years of CNC programming experience with Mastercam, GibbsCAM, or Siemens Sinumerik, and a strong ability to read GD&T on engineering drawings.

Qualifications

• 3+ years CNC programming experience using Mastercam, GibbsCAM, or Siemens Sinumerik software
• Experience programming or operating Siemens CNC controllers (preferred)
• Experience with low-volume, high-mix, or custom large-part manufacturing
• Ability to interpret complex engineering blueprints, GD&T specifications with precision
• Interest or experience with Digital Twin simulation tools and modern machining technologies

Responsibilities

• Generate and optimize CNC programs for large, complex project-based fabrications and machined parts
• Review engineering prints and specifications to select tooling
• Create and maintain CNC program libraries and setup procedures
• Determine machining sequences, fixturing, and setup requirements
• Coordinate with service technicians for equipment maintenance and repairs
• Collaborate with machinists to troubleshoot 5-axis program execution (VTL/HBM)
• Assist estimators with cycle time analysis and project quoting
• Perform digital simulations and trial runs to validate tool paths
• Inspect machined components for dimensional accuracy
• Mentor machinists on setup procedures and techniques
