Job summary

Prince Industries is seeking an experienced CNC Programmer who is self-directed and proficient in CAD/CAM, with a hands-on background in machining. The role focuses on programming and optimizing 3–5 axis Vertical and Horizontal Machining Centers.

This individual will own projects from concept through production readiness, applying knowledge of tooling, fixturing, GD&T, and probing cycles to ensure manufacturability and efficiency.

Qualifications

• High school or equivalent; technical/associate degree preferred.
• 5+ years in CNC setup and programming.
• Proficiency with CAD/CAM tooling and machine integration.

Responsibilities

• Create, optimize, and validate CNC programs for 3–5 axis machines.
• Interpret drawings and 3D models to develop machining strategies.
• Design fixtures and work-holding for repeatable processes.
• Select cutters and parameters based on material and tolerance.
• Support shop floor setup, adjust toolpaths, feeds, and speeds.
• Use probing cycles and Macro B for automation and checks.
• Troubleshoot chatter, dimensional issues, and tool performance.
• Prepare setup sheets and process documentation.
• Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality.
• Drive cycle time reduction and tool-life improvements.
• Assist quoting with cycle time and fixture cost estimates.
• Create SolidWorks layouts for fixtures and datum references.
