Job summary

Orion Castings in Cambridge, MA, seeks a skilled CNC Programmer to join our precision manufacturing team. You will develop programs and write code to produce tight-tolerance components on CNC mills and lathes, guiding them from setup through production.

You will use Mastercam to create and optimize G-code, set up Haas 3-axis machines, select tooling, read blueprints with GD&T, and troubleshoot machining issues to ensure quality and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Mastercam programming is required; develop and optimize G-code.
• Proficient in blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation.
• Experience with CNC setup and operation on 3-axis equipment.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and multi-task.

Responsibilities

• Program CNC machines using Mastercam and optimize G-code for efficiency.
• Set up Haas 3-axis mills and lathes; perform tool offsets and alignment.
• Select tools and strategies based on material and geometry.
• Interpret blueprints and GD&T requirements for parts.
• Machine tight-tolerance components on varied materials.
• Perform in-process and final inspections with precision tools.
• Troubleshoot machining issues to improve quality and output.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and assist with maintenance.
