Job summary

MPI is seeking a skilled CNC Programmer to join a Northeastern-based aerospace and industrial manufacturing organization. You will develop and optimize CNC programs, read blueprints, and drive quality and efficiency across machining operations.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field and at least 3 years of CNC programming experience, with proficiency in CAD/CAM and CNC controls. ITAR compliance and collaboration with engineering, production, and quality teams are essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering Technology or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of CNC programming or related manufacturing experience.
  • Proficiency with CAD/CAM software systems and CNC controls.
  • Experience with lathes, mills, grinders, and modern machining equipment.
  • Knowledge of SPC methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, test, and optimize CNC programs for precision aerospace components.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Create machining programs and cutting paths using CAD/CAM software.

Job Description
  • Develop, test, and optimize CNC programs for precision aerospace components
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and engineering specifications
  • Utilize CAD/CAM software to create machining programs and cutting paths
  • Program and support CNC lathes, mills, grinders, and other machining equipment
  • Adjust machine settings and cutting paths to improve efficiency while maintaining quality standards
  • Perform quality verification and support inspection activities to ensure conformance to specifications
  • Troubleshoot machining, programming, and equipment-related issues
  • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams on process improvements
  • Develop tooling concepts and support fabrication of custom tooling and fixtures
  • Train machine operators and support personnel on CNC programs and machine operation
  • Create and maintain inspection records, documentation, and operating procedures
  • Recommend workflow, equipment, and process improvements to increase productivity and reduce waste
  • Apply statistical methods and SPC practices to support manufacturing performance
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality requirements
  • Support additional manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives as needed

The Successful Applicant
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering Technology, or related field preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of CNC programming or related manufacturing experience
  • Strong experience with CNC controls and programming
  • Proficiency with CAD/CAM software systems
  • Experience working with lathes, mills, grinders, and modern machining equipment
  • Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) methodologies
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience creating reports, procedures, and technical documentation preferred
  • Must qualify as a U.S. Person due to ITAR requirements
