Job summary

Trace-A-Matic seeks a Manufacturing Engineer to support new product development, process improvement and daily production. You will analyze technical data and create shop routings, operations sheets, tooling, and processes to produce high-quality products.

Typical duties include CNC programming, milling, lathe operation, assembly, testing, and dimensional inspection. This role requires CAD work, tooling design, and collaboration on corrective actions and MRB boards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering required or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of manufacturing experience preferred.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks and Microsoft Suite; GD&T knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Plan sequences of operations for machining and assembly based on customer orders.
• Ensure manufacturing methods are efficient and compatible with available machines.
• Create/modify manufacturing drawings using CAD; value engineer to reduce cost and lead times.

Position Overview

The manufacturing engineer shall support the business in areas of new product development; process improvement; daily production support; project manage key programs; analyze and interpret technical data (engineering drawings, specifications, purchase orders, etc.) and create shop routings, operations sheets, tools, and other necessary processes and equipment to produce a high-quality product.

Typical processes include milling, lathe operation, honing, plating, CNC programming, assembly, testing, non-destructive testing, dimensional and visual inspection techniques and electro-mechanical assembly experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Based on requirements from customer orders, plan sequences of operations for machining and assembly of products.
• Ensure efficient and effective manufacturing methods are used that are compatible to available machines.
• Specifies, design and/or procures special tooling or equipment required to attain product per customer requirement with in budgeted cost and time.
• Programs CNC machines to effectively and efficiently produce desired product.
• Participate in the Company’s Corrective Action and MRB Boards.
• Analyze and resolve machining and tooling issues to avoid problems.
• Create new or modify existing manufacturing drawings using CAD methodology.
• Value engineer existing products and processes to reduce cost, lead time and cycle times.
• Complies with all company policies/procedures.
• Complies with all military and contractual requirements.
• Other duties as needed

Requirements

• Proficiency in SolidWorks and Microsoft Suite
• Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
• Basic understanding of typical manufacturing systems: Material Requirements Planning (MRP), Kitting, Batch sizing, Configuration control, Workflow routings
