Job summary

Trace-A-Matic is seeking an experienced manufacturing engineer to convert complex engineering drawings into scalable machining processes. You will orchestrate methods, tooling, and CNC programming to ensure first-time-right quality and on-time delivery.

With 7+ years in manufacturing and strong GD&T and CAD/CAM skills, you will optimize tooling, supervise process documentation, and drive continuous improvements across milling, turning, and assembly operations.

Qualifications

BS in Engineering required; equivalent experience considered.
7+ years manufacturing experience preferred.
Strong GD&T, CAD/CAM, and CNC programming experience.

Responsibilities

Analyze customer requirements and define machining/assembly sequences.
Produce routings, operation sheets, tooling strategies, and process docs.
Match methods to available machines for efficiency and consistency.
Specify and procure tooling/fixtures aligned to budget and schedule.
Program CNC equipment for production efficiency.
Participate on Corrective Action and MRB Boards to drive improvements.
Troubleshoot machining/tooling issues and implement fixes.
Create/update manufacturing drawings via CAD methods.
Value-engineer products to reduce cost, lead time, and cycle time.
Comply with company policies and contractual requirements.

Your impact

You will convert challenging requirements into dependable, scalable processes. From the first read of engineering drawings to the last inspection, you will orchestrate methods, tooling, and CNC programming so our teams deliver right-the-first-time quality---on time.

Core responsibilities

Analyze customer requirements (drawings, specifications, purchase orders) and define machining and assembly sequences.
Produce shop routings, operation sheets, tooling strategies, and process documentation to ensure high-quality output.
Match manufacturing methods to available machines for maximum efficiency and consistency.
Specify, design, and procure special tooling/fixtures and equipment aligned to budget and schedule.
Program CNC equipment for effective and efficient production.
Serve on Corrective Action and MRB Boards to drive systematic improvements.
Troubleshoot machining/tooling issues and implement durable fixes.
Create or update manufacturing drawings via CAD methodology.
Value-engineer products and processes to shrink cost, lead time, and cycle time.
Comply with all company policies/procedures, as well as military and contractual requirements.
Other duties as needed.

Processes you'll shape

Milling, turning/lathe operations, honing, plating, CNC programming, assembly, testing, non-destructive testing, dimensional and visual inspection, and electro-mechanical assembly.

What you bring

Proficiency in SolidWorks and Microsoft Suite
