Industrial manufacturer within the Greater Stonington CT area is in search of a CNC Programmer. We are seeking candidates who have a degree in computer programming or High School Diploma with 3-5 years of experience.

Candidates must have knowledge of electronics and machine tools that includes experience with programming. Candidates must possess solid math skills, especially algebra, trigonometry. The ideal candidate will be mechanically inclined with knowledge of machine shop work. Candidates must have MasterCam, Griffo Brothers, and NC Simul experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide direction and instructions for machinists.
• Provides calculations for programming including where materials should be cut.
• Interprets instructions into a computer automated manufacturing (CAM) program.
• Run simulations or tests for programs
• Creates geometric layout of designs using proper software.
• Sequence of operations in a program.
• Provides directions for cutting tools that will be needed.
• Analyzes job order and performs necessary calculations.
• Write & modify programs
• Analyzes and selects speeds and cutting tools for programs.
• Improvements to set up times for a task and contouring of complex shapes.
• Condenses tooling time for workers and increases productivity for the client.
• Monitors programs to ensure blueprint instruction accuracy and safely and successfully complete the task.
• Review of 3D CAD design blueprints.
