Job summary

Integrated Power Services is seeking a full-time machinist to support wind solutions by programming, setting up, and operating CNC machines. You will develop Mastercam programs, create fixtures, and generate 3D models in SolidWorks for production efficiency.

You will interpret engineering drawings, collaborate with the production team, and ensure quality through measurement and tooling optimization. The role emphasizes 6S housekeeping and safe, precise machining.

Qualifications

  • Must be competent in shop math, including algebra and trigonometry.
  • Ability to understand, perform and retain various job-related training, operational, and safety procedures
  • Ability to effectively and clearly present and express written and verbal information to individuals and/or groups required.
  • Strong ability to accurately follow instructions, both written and verbal, with limited guidance
  • Excellent time management
  • Able to safely lift and carry, push or pull objects up to 50lbs.
  • Technical background with electrical and/or mechanical products is a plus
  • Critical attention to detail to ensure high quality production that minimizes errors.
  • Ability to operate manual machining tools to include horizontal lathes, milling machines, grinders, drilling machines, and related equipment is desired.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately interpret engineering drawings and models to determine optimal machining methods to meet required part tolerances, fit, and finish.
  • Development of G-code CNC programs for CNC mills and lathes using MasterCam.
  • Develop accurate and efficient fixtures for complicated part production when required.
  • Create 3D models using SolidWorks as needed for use in programming.
  • Assist operators with initial run machine tool set-up, troubleshooting and improving programs to maintain machine productivity.
  • Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, or materials onto machines. Set up, adjust, or operate basic or specialized machine tools used to perform precision machining operations.
  • Measure, examine, or test completed units to check for defects and ensure conformance to specifications, using precision instruments, such as micrometers and calipers.
  • Work cooperatively with production team members and assist engineering with design for manufacturability.
  • Work with Process engineers to create machine tool setup sheets and manufacturing operating procedures with detailed operator instructions and visual aids.
  • Lead daily 6S initiative and keep shop areas clean & organized

Key Responsibilities And Expectations

As key contributor to Wind Solutions by supporting production, programing and machine setup, trouble shooting and reducing cost of machining. Utilize CAD and CAM software to develop CNC machine tool programming that incorporates detailed instructions and documentation for machine tool operators. In addition, supporting engineering in developing prototypes and improving efficiencies in production.
