Job Description
- Construct N/C programs and supporting documentation. Maintain elements of the manufacturing database including documentation and computer files for standards, methods, tooling, and inspection.
- Under general supervision, carry out duties pertaining to tooling and matching of parts, applying standard techniques, procedures, and part programming requirements for Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machines.
- Report production problems caused by incorrect manufacturing processes, tooling, or programming methods to the immediate supervisor.
- Check other CNC programs for programming accuracy using J.C.I. standard methods before releasing new or revised programs to the shop floor.
- Generate actual part programs for CNC turning and machining centers, specifying correct machining data, tool geometry, current manufacturing/processing methods, and work holding specifications.
- Maintain orderly files and reporting systems for all customers and J.C.I. programs.
- Apply knowledge for manufacturing parts from raw materials to finished specifications using manual lathes, mills, or drilling machines as required.
- Read and interpret J.C.I. engineering drawings and specifications for manufacturing requirements.
- Participate in Lean Manufacturing projects and events.
- Complete other tasks as necessary.
Qualifications:
- Requires a two-year Associate's Degree in Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience.
- 3-6 years of on-the-job experience in Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering.
- Basic hands-on knowledge of machine tool operations, processing, and work holding methods.
- Previous experience with EdgeCAM or other CAM systems, CAD (3D modeling is a plus), and basic PC knowledge.
